Crewe Honda Centre is an established motorcycle shop which has been trading for over 100 years. Not only do they sell new and used Honda motorcycles but also carry out MOTs. And it is the MOT area that has been given the Regal Paint treatment.

The Team Thoroughly Prepared the Floor
Desiring a top-quality finish, as befitting their business ethos, Crewe Honda Centre took the time to call us to ask for advice, which we are always more than happy to give. Having discussed the details, we recommended the two-pack epoxy floor paint system. Because of the nature of epoxy resin, this type of paint is very hardwearing and is suitable for high-traffic areas and environments where heavy machinery may be used. It is also the paint most resistant to oil and chemical spills, such as those that will inevitably happen in a car-garage environment. With correct application and care, an epoxy floor can last a long time dependent on the level of use.
As a working MOT area, it was important that the floor was thoroughly cleaned. This is a vital step to take prior to the application of any floor paint. Surface contaminants such as oil, debris or a flaking floor will all hinder the way in which floor paint adheres to the substrate. If the floor isn’t suitably prepared, the paint cannot form a bond with the floor and this will affect the finish and longevity of the coating.
Knowing this, the Crewe Honda team took the time to thoroughly clean and prepare the floor prior to painting.

Crewe Honda Centre used the Two-Pack Epoxy Floor System
They then used Regal Two-Pack Epoxy Floor Sealer as a first coat over the entire floor. If you look at the photos, this is the more dull looking coating. The purpose of the sealer coat is to create an anchor between the substrate and the topcoat. You can also see that the floor is looking so very neat even with the sealer coat, due to the fantastic preparation carried out by the team.
Having left the sealer coat to dry, Regal Two-Pack High-Build Epoxy Garage Floor Paint in Light Grey was applied using floor rollers. The team used nylon-bonded roller sleeves which are suitable for used with epoxy floor-paint. Ordinary roller sleeves can be attacked by the paint, causing the roller head to lose its form or shed fibres. Again from the photos, you can see the top-quality job that the Crewe Honda have done in rollering out the floor paint. It really does look the business.
And finally, all of the work and safety zones were demarked using Regal Line-Marking Paint in JCB Yellow. This is a single-pack paint (not epoxy) but is suitable for painting over our epoxy coating. This particular yellow is lovely and bright and contrasts well with the grey floor paint. This will not only indicate clear work and safety zones to the staff, but also to any visitors.
